Nursery & Kindergarten
There are four years of nursery and kindergarten comprising Nido, Maternal, Kinder and Pre-primero. These preparatory years serve to introduce children as young as two to key skills that will be required later on in elementary school, such as language learning, numeracy, handwriting and computer skills. All lessons are given in Spanish using the Dominican curriculum.
Kindergarten pupils will begin studying the following subjects:
- Spanish Language
- Mathematics
- Reading and writing (from Pre-primero)
- Drawing, coloring and writing (fine motor skills)
- Computer skills
- Physical Education
Children in Nido and Maternal have one hour's siesta a day, while those in Kinder and Pre-primero are given 45 minutes. At lunchtime children eat outside and play in their own playground (separate from elementary and high school pupils).
All pupils are required to wear a uniform. Boys wear navy blue pants and tie, white shirt and black shoes. Girls wear a navy blue dress, white shirt and black shoes.
